An extraordinary place

The Shops at Château d’Estoublon.
Doing your shopping in the rooms of an 18th century château while sampling a glass of wine from the estate and a few tasty treats. A dream which the Estoublon shop has made possible.

It is hard for visitors to imagine that after pushing open the heavy wooden door of Château d’Estoublon, in Fontvieille, they will find themselves in a huge store, but it really is one of kind: a riot of flavours, colours and fragrances, a perfect blend of indulgent products and unexpected objects, in some cases practical and in others beautiful.
You need to visit with hours to spare, and with no preconceptions, allowing yourself to be won over and enjoy taking the time to pick out the perfect gift.

400 sq m of shops open all year round, bargains waiting to be unearthed for the home and garden, gifts to choose from for all ages, olive oils and wines to sample, temporary and permanent exhibitions and a park to visit: there's so much on the agenda when you shop at Château d’Estoublon. So just before or just after, it's a good idea to take a break in the château's vaulted cellar in Bistrot Mogador.

Tourists and locals alike travel to Bistrot Mogador to enjoy a glass or two with friends or a break from an afternoon spent shopping with girlfriends.

The walls boast paintings by a young artist passionate about bullfighting. The libraries are stocked with wine, olive oils, honey, spices, pasta, tapenades, sardine and tuna pastes, an olive and ginger chutney, and more. On the home decor side, there is furniture, hand-painted crockery, rugs... In terms of off-the-peg fashion: skirts, jackets... Schneiders - Joules...

By creating the shop of our dreams inside an 18th century château so redolent of times past, Valérie Reboul has revealed a genuine talent for presentation, a "home-grown" talent. The Estoublon secret lies in generosity and in successfully balancing a blend of genres, a taste for the good things in life and an instinct for beauty. Not to mention audacity.

Christmas market

You need to visit with hours to spare, and with no preconceptions, allowing yourself to be won over and enjoy taking the time to pick out the perfect gift. In the beginning this was something of a secret, a tip passed on by word of mouth.

It all started in December 2000 with a Christmas market, the early stirrings of the festival spirit which now holds sway at Estoublon, and in which Valérie Reboul got caught up. And the public too, as they came back the next day and the days after that. The Château d'Estoublon shop was born. And the Estoublon Christmas market became one of the big end-of-year occasions in the Alpilles.

The next Christmas market in Estoublon is already schedule from November 17 to December 29, 2012!
